Welcome to Lynbrook High School, where student success is our daily focus and striving for excellence our overarching goal. Recognized in 2011 by Newsweek as one of the top 400 high schools in the country, Lynbrook High School enjoys superb academic achievement as well as extensive community involvement. Our students win National Merit and science research awards, and engage themselves with our community in countless ways. This blend of academic power and compassion for others constitutes the very character of LHS.

  • Jessica Shao spent six weeks in Zhuhai, China this summer living with a host family and studying at Beijing Normal University
  • Zoe Daniels and Stephanie Mertz earned honorable mention in the senior division of the 2011 DuPont Science Essay Challenge.
  • Seven LHS student were invited to participate in the NYSSMA All-State music festival in December.  Seated (l-r) are Natasha Lubczenko, Isaac Polinsky, Zoe Daniels, and Emma Harringtom.  Standing (l-r) are Ben Barnett, Toniann Butler, and Zachary Daniels
  • LHS students from the Culinary Arts Club planted a rooftop garden this spring.  Vegetables and herbs from the garden are used in the preparation of dishes in the Family and Consumer Science classes at the high school.
  • Seniors Kyle Parsard, Ilana Ajenman, Laura Zweifler and Tim Keegan have been named Commended tudents in the 2012 Nationa Merit Scholarship Competition.  These seniors are among the top five percent of all students who took the 2010 PSAT.
  • Sixty four students at LHS earned the desigination of AP Scholar from the College Board in recognition of thier achievement on the college level Advanced Placement (AP) exams.  Pictured above are the current seniors honored.
  • Senior Kyle Parsard has been named a Semifinalist in the National Achievement Scholarship program sponsored by the College Board.  Kyle is 1 of only 1600 students named as a Semifinalist.  He is now in the running for one of 800 Achievement Scholarship Awards to be distributed later this year.
  • Seniors enrolled in the LHS VE program engaged in the day to day operations of a start up corporation.
